Barkley Returns to Haunt Former Club as Everton Edge Luton

Barkley Scores Only Goal in Everton's Narrow Victory

Luton's Struggles Continue Despite Positive Result

Ross Barkley scored the only goal as Everton secured a narrow 1-0 win over Luton Town in the Premier League, dampening the hosts' hopes of avoiding relegation. Barkley, who made 150 league appearances for Everton between 2011 and 2017, netted in the 30th minute against his former club.

The result leaves Luton level on 26 points with Nottingham Forest but having played a game more. Everton, meanwhile, moved 11 points clear of the relegation zone, securing their Premier League status for another season.

Luton have now won only one of their last 14 games in the top flight, with no team in the top four tiers winning fewer games since the start of February.
