Omar Mohamed Ahmed Hassan to Referee the AFC Cup Final 2023/24

The Asian Football Confederation (AFC) has confirmed the appointment of Omar Mohamed Ahmed Hassan as the referee for the AFC Cup 2023/24 Final. Hassan, a FIFA-listed referee from the United Arab Emirates, will be taking charge of the biggest match of the AFC Cup for the first time.

Experienced Refereeing Team

Hassan will be assisted by two assistant referees from the United Arab Emirates, namely Mohamed Al-hammadi and Hasan Al-mahri. The fourth official for the match will be Ahmed Al-Kaf from Oman, while the video assistant referee (VAR) will be Muhammad Taqi Al-jaafari from Singapore.

Hassan is a highly experienced referee who has officiated in numerous international matches, including the AFC Champions League and the FIFA World Cup qualifiers. He is known for his consistency and fair play.

The AFC Cup Final 2023/24 will be played on 22 May 2024 at the Sultan Qaboos Sports Complex in Muscat, Oman. The match will be between the winners of the East Zone and West Zone of the AFC Cup.

The AFC Cup is the second-tier club competition in Asia, after the AFC Champions League. It was established in 2004 and has been won by clubs from 12 different countries.
